Chandra e o marido, Dharam, administram uma pousada localizada na única estrada de uma pequena vila no Himalaia. O terreno acidentado é um problema para a família, que precisa transportar o filho, Prakash, em sua cadeira de rodas para ir ao médico e à escola. Enquanto Chandra acredita que Prakash necessita de mais cuidados médicos, Dharam não parece estar convencido. Ao invés disso, ele prefere apostar em um ritual xamânico que, pensa, os livrará da maldição que seria a causa das aflições do filho. As tensões aumentam à medida que essas diferentes visões de mundo colidem e passam a lentamente corroer os laços familiares.
