Após uma expedição em alto-mar, Jay Fennel acaba sofrendo um grave acidente e entra em coma. Mas, graças a um anel que encontrou na mesma expedição, ele acaba indo parar em outro tempo, deixando para trás Jay e sua esposa Laura Fennel. Na outra realidade, ele se encontra como James Stewart, e conhece a jovem Tujala Naik, por quem se apaixona. Agora, James se encontra dividido em dois períodos com dois amores que o fazem querer voltar e ao mesmo tempo permanecer onde está.
