O filme conta a história de três pilotos de corrida e três mulheres, que estão constantemente preocupadas com a vida de seus namorados. Jim Loomis (Anthony Rogers) e Mike Marsh (James Caan) disputam na equipe de Pat Cassarian (Norman Alden). Jim está esperando sua noiva Holly (Gail Hire), mas antes que ela chegue, ele sofre um acidente e morre na corrida. Um novo piloto entra para o time, o jovem ambicioso Ned Arp (John Robert Crawford), que começa a flertar com a irmã de Pat, Julie (Laura Devon). Outro piloto, Dan McCall (Skip Ward) se junta ao time e logo se interessa por Holly. Entre idas e vindas do amor e das corridas, a pergunta central é: Quem vai ficar com quem?
