Um criminoso americano que ultrapassa a fronteira entre Estados Unidos e México durante a fuga de um roubo a banco. Ele acaba preso pelas autoridades mexicanas e enviado para um presídio lotado de bandidos de alta periculosidade. Não bastasse essa experiência bizarra, ele acaba se envolvendo com uma família local e se metendo numa grande enrascada em terras estrangeiras porque a bandidagem agora quer a pele dele. Para sobreviver na prisão, ele terá que aceitar a ajuda de um garoto de apenas 9 anos (Kevin Hernandez), com quem irá planejar sua fuga.
