Pura Ficção conta a história de Rocky, um garoto apaixonado por cinema e literatura, que vive em um mundo particular, cheio de aventuras e descobertas, o mundo da Imaginação. No entanto, quando retorna ao mundo real, se depara com as críticas e a indiferença por parte de todos ao seu redor. Um filme onde a realidade é ficção e a imaginação é ser real. Pura Ficção é uma livre releitura autobiográfica da infância do diretor Rodrigo Castelhano, que com apenas 9 anos de idade fugiu de casa para ser ator de cinema, mais especificamente fazer um filme com os Trapalhões, além de ser também uma obra que faz homenagem a diversos filmes e livros que marcaram sua infância.
