Júlio Montenegro sonha escrever seu primeiro livro, para isso utiliza uma velha máquina de escrever que ele carrega pelas ruas do Rio de Janeiro, mas um dia, a máquina é roubada e ao tentar correr atrás do ladrão, acaba encontrando a misteriosa Sônia, mulher que irá transformar completamente sua vida e fazer com que ele descubra sua verdadeira obra, a filha que ele não vê há muito tempo e que mora na Argentina. Com Léo Wainer, Adriana Zattar, Eduardo Carneiro, Norberto Presta, Marcelo Mattos, Paulo Vieira, entre outros. Filme de Francis Ivanovich. O Homem de Escrever participou de diversos festivais internacionais, sendo finalista do Festival Internacional de Caracas, 2014.
