A história convincente do alpinista Tom Ballard, de 30 anos, que desapareceu em uma das montanhas mais mortais do Himalaia, Nanga Parbat, em fevereiro de 2019. Tom era filho da alpinista Alison Hargreaves, que morreu no K2 em 1995. Mãe e filho , dois dos maiores escaladores de todos os tempos, morreram quase com a mesma idade nas cadeias montanhosas vizinhas, ambos fazendo o que mais gostavam. Eles agora estão para sempre envoltos no gelo de duas das montanhas mais altas do mundo. Deixados para trás, para lidar com a tragédia duradoura, estão a irmã de Tom, Kate, e seu pai, Jim.
