O anjo Gabriel retorna à Terra para evitar o nascimento de um nefilim, que é o filho de um anjo com uma mulher, pois a ideia de um humano com poderes angelicais o desagrada imensamente, estando disposto a matar para evitar este nascimento. Valerie engravida do anjo Danyael e se vê envolvida em fatos que não entende totalmente, mas fica claro que sua vida corre perigo. Quando Daniel mata membros do exército de anjos de Gabriel, este por sua vez utiliza uma adolescente, que tentou cometer suicídio e a qual vem mantendo viva, para auxiliá-lo a combater Daniel e outros anjos.
