Lá, o Cine Carmen Miranda existiu por 6 anos e algumas histórias são contadas no filme, além de tudo o que cerca a vida do garoto Baixinho, com sua mãe sendo abandonada pelo pai, ele na escola e suas peripécias a caminho dos cinemas de rua do Centro, como Grande Otelo, Oscarito, Chaplin. Uma homenagem e resgate a uma época sensível e genuína em torno dos cinemas de Manaus.
