Uma sátira aos filmes policiais, com suspense e humor negro. A história mistura várias tramas, ligadas por um crime: um pistoleiro frio e um gangster de coração mole têm um assassinato a cumprir. Na fuga, tomam como refém um negociante de artes que sofre com suas pedras nos rins, mas que conta com sua devota assistente; um policial molambento ganha um novo parceiro, novato e almofadinha, e os dois começam a seguir a trilha do crime; duas mulheres belas e ciumentas se vêem envolvidas na trama, e correm riscos; e um diretor de TV está disposto a se suicidar, desde que encontre alguém para cuidar de seu cachorro.
