A trajetória de Gal Costa, uma menina tímida que desde muito cedo soube que a música guiaria seus caminhos. Ela foi criada sozinha pela mãe Mariah, que foi uma de suas maiores incentivadoras. Aos 20 anos, ela decide viajar rumo ao Rio de Janeiro para se tornar cantora. Lá, a jovem encontra seus amigos da Bahia: Caetano Veloso, Maria Bethânia, Gilberto Gil e Dedé Gadelha, que acompanham os primeiros passos de Gal na música profissional no final da década de 1960.
