José Luis, no dia de seu casamento, é deixado no altar. Além do trauma do abandono, uma questão prática é colocada em perspectiva: A lua de mel já está paga. Sua mãe superprotetora, Mari Carmen, insiste em acompanhá-lo até o destino do que seria a sua lua de mel, para não perder dinheiro, nem deixar o filho sozinho nesse momento. José Luis nunca se sentiu tão infeliz, mas Mari Carmen acaba se divertindo como nunca e nessa viagem, o vínculo entre os dois se fortalece.
