Concebido originalmente como um documentário autobiográfico, Freedom é um comovente tributo e uma homenagem ao artista falecido em 25 de dezembro de 2016. Pela voz do próprio George Michael, percorremos a vida do icónico cantor de Careless Whisper, a história por trás do álbum Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1, o primeiro em que assumiu por completo o controle artístico, o processo contra a Sony, as convicções pessoais e a dor da perda do amor da sua vida. O documentário inclui testemunhos das cinco famosas top models dos anos 90, Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford, Tatjana Patitz e Linda Evangelista, que participaram no videoclipe Freedom! ´90, e de admiradores famosos como Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Ricky Gervais, Mark Ronson, Liam Gallagher, Mary J. Blige, Jean Paul Gaultier, Tony Bennett e James Corden.
